Less than 5 months ago I decided to start running. I’d never run before and in fact I HATED running, but having seen my Dad complete the Southampton Half Marathon as a kid I had always wanted to follow in his footsteps and so I decided it was time to lace up my trainers and hit the pavement.
As part of my running challenge I decided to give myself a target of running 500 miles before the end of the year. No small feat given that when I started running I could complete a single mile without needing to walk sections.
Could I really run 500 miles in just 6 months? Well, it turns out the answer appear to be yes as I have now completed 99% of this challenge and hence expect to exceed the 500 miles this weekend!
Year Without Beer
The Olympics may be over, but my Year Without Beer isn’t! I am spending all 366 days of this leap year alcohol free in an attempt to raise money for 2 charities that are both very close to my heart.
If giving up all alcohol for a year isn’t enough of a challenge to make you dig deep and show your support, I also plan to run 500 miles! As part of my running challenge I have completed a quarter marathon, a 10 mile road race (Great South Run) and am signed up to do an 8 mile off road challenge (The Grim Original).
If you want to show some love them please donate to my year without beer and give your support to one of these fantastic causes:
