So now there is just 1 more sleep on the countdown to the Great South Run. I have completed 437 miles of training and feel both physically and mentally ready for the challenge.
25 years ago, following the diagnosis of my cousin’s son Adam with Cystic Fibrosis, my Dad ran the Southampton Half Marathon in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. My Dad was (and always will be) my hero and a major inspiration in my life. Tomorrow I will follow in his footsteps as I run the Great South Run in memory of Adam and to try raise awareness and money to help fight Cystic Fibrosis.
I know my Dad will be with me as I do this and hope I do him proud.
Wish me luck!
