Damn the Jason Vale’s Juice Academy left me feeling super juiced. I came home so inspired that I signed up to do the Great South Run. Please bear in mind that although I do exercise, the only thing I normally run is a bath!
Although I’ve always found running boring, when I was a kid I watched my Dad complete the Southampton marathon and ever since then I have always had a desire to follow in his footsteps. A long distance run or marathon has been on my bucket list since before I even heard the term bucket list, and now it is jumped up that list to become a short term challenge for which I have approx 4 months to train.
With a new found motivation I started yesterday morning with my first training run (approx 1.4 miles) which I also repeated in the evening. God my legs ached this morning. I guess it must be the pounding on the pavement, because I can spend 3 or 4 times as long on my rebounder or rowing machine without aches like these. Anyway I am persevering and even managed a training run (well more of a jog / fast walk) this evening too. I’m glad I did, as I got to see some gorgeous countryside and a lake near the hotel I am staying in that I don’t think I would have known existed otherwise.
Running on Juice
My intention is to complete the Great South Run on nothing but natures finest, freshly extracted juices. To help plan my training and juices I have downloaded the free Juicemaster guide to ‘running on juice’ as well as reading some useful info on No Meat Athlete. If anyone has any training tips please feel free to comment on this post!
