After yesterday’s mud and ice fest that was the Grim Original, todays running was a little more relaxed. My family and I entered a little 3k Santa Fun Run in Pitville Park in Cheltenham. It was a lot of fun and it was good to see almost everybody getting festive with their running outfits.
I ran the course while my lovely wife and kids walked around – even my 3 year old. It makes me proud when the whole family get active together.
Apparently I finished with a top ten place, but as there were no official rankings or timings and this was purely based on my families view of how many “fast” people passed them before me. Regardless of this it was great fun and I especially enjoyed rejoining the course to walk my family’s last lap with them.
Now feeling a bit rough, but I suspect this is jet lag catching up with me after the active weekend.
Year Without Beer
The Olympics may be over, but my Year Without Beer isn’t! I am spending all 366 days of this leap year alcohol free in an attempt to raise money for 2 charities that are both very close to my heart.
If giving up all alcohol for a year isn’t enough of a challenge to make you dig deep and show your support, I’ve also completed a challenge to run 500 miles! As part of my running challenge I have completed a quarter marathon, a 10 mile road race (Great South Run) and an 8 mile off road challenge (The Grim Original).
If you want to show some love them please donate to my year without beer and give your support to one of these fantastic causes:
