UK households spend around £15 billion a year on the consumption of alcoholic drinks, which is around 18% of their total expenditure on all food and drink!
I have decided to make 2012 my year without beer in an attempt to redirect some of this spending to help 2 very worthwhile charities that are close to my heart, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK received donations in 2010 that equate to just 2.9% of the UK’s spending on alcohol and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust just 0.06%.
Please donate the equivalent of a beer, a glass of wine or whatever your favourite tipple is to help one (or both) of these charities.
Many thanks, Neil.
